TOUCH ME, The Taboo of Female Masturbation

In a world where societies used to revolve around men and men’s pleasure, the idea that women should be pure, clean and innocent emerged pushing absolute female purity throughout time. Society tells women that it is wrong, or that it is inappropriate if they express sexual feelings openly. In this project a series of interviews to different women with different backgrounds, ages and religions were made. These interviews narrate the experience of each woman through a series of questions. The project itself questions how women see themselves as a result of the oppression of their self-expression of sexuality.
What I wanted with this project was to test the line between what is socially accepted for women to do or say related to their sexual desires.
